Our Commercial function and this role

At a time of increasing complexity and demand across public services, MaPS is strengthening its commercial capability to ensure levy funding from the financial services sector is used transparently, effectively and delivers maximum impact. A significant proportion of MaPS services are delivered through third‑party providers. The Head of Commercial - Digital & Business Services, will lead the commercial strategy behind a complex national digital ecosystem, helping to deliver innovative services, data platforms, dashboards, professional services and technology solutions at scale. This role will work at the heart of strategic decision-making, influencing executive leaders, managing significant commercial risk, and ensuring the organisation can continue to evolve, innovate and deliver exceptional public value.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Head of Commercial – Digital & Business Services will provide senior commercial leadership across a diverse portfolio of digital, corporate and professional services contracts. They will lead a team of commercial specialists while shaping the sourcing strategies, governance frameworks and supplier partnerships that underpin critical services.

About You

We are seeking a commercially astute and strategic leader who thrives in complex, environments where balancing risk, innovation and delivery is critical. With a proven track record of leading commercial functions at enterprise or portfolio level, you will bring deep expertise across digital, professional services, consultancy or resourcing categories and be comfortable operating within regulated and highly scrutinised settings. You will have the credibility to influence executive stakeholders, challenge constructively and shape major commercial decisions, while building strong partnerships across diverse teams and suppliers. Combining strong commercial judgement with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset, you will be adept at navigating ambiguity, driving supplier performance and creating solutions that achieve both organisational objectives and public value at scale.
